SEBASTIAN SHAKESPEARE: Lucy Boynton’s in rhapsodies over lockdown love with Oscar-winning actor Rami Malek
Oscar-winner Rami Malek is used to being in the spotlight, but on an outing in London with his girlfriend, actress Lucy Boynton, he was virtually unrecognisable behind the face mask he fashioned from a navy bandana.
The 39-year-old, who earned the best actor accolade for playing Freddie Mercury, ate with Lucy at Vietnamese restaurant Cay Tre in Soho, where they tucked into traditional pho.
London-bred Lucy, who sported a black outfit and no mask, says she and Rami — whom she met on the set of Bohemian Rhapsody, playing Mercury’s girlfriend — have been self-isolating together in the capital.
‘We arrived just before the lockdown,’ she says.
‘I’m really grateful to be living with someone so great throughout all of this.’

Christopher Booker, the first editor of Private Eye, left more than £1.6 million in his will. Booker was noted for his contrarian views, arguing speed cameras caused accidents and asbestos was not harmful. Unfortunately, he once wrote an enthusiastic review of a concert which turned out to have been cancelled. He was replaced at the Eye within two years, as colleagues became frustrated with his chaotic working practices. Didn’t seem to do his bank balance any harm.

BBC presenter Naga Munchetty says she’s had strange reactions whenever she’s revealed she doesn’t want children.
‘I remember when I told someone I had decided I didn’t want children, they told me I was wicked, wicked against my mother for denying her grandchildren,’ says the 45-year-old. ‘It’s interesting how people react — though I think it is changing. I’m past the age where people expect me to have children.’
