  • Social media users  branded him ‘Karen’ for compaining about his order

A McDonald’s customer has been slammed for complaining after he ordered ‘a salad with no lettuce’ and got exactly what he asked for.

James Ellinsworth says he ordered a Shaker Salad without lettuce from a McDonald’s Drive-Thru in Leven, Fife, Scotland, last weekend.

He claims he received a  small portion of two slices of cucumber and a slice of beef tomato- while he was expecting cherry tomatoes, cucumber, and a selection of seasonal salad leaves minus the lettuce.

James Ellinsworth was expecting  cherry tomatoes, cucumber, and a selection of seasonal salad leaves without lettuce but got two slices of cucumber and a slice of tomato instead

Mr Ellinsworth, from Anstruther in Fife, Scotland, posted a hilarious photo on social media but didn’t receive much sympathy from other social media users.

He shared the snap online with a caption ‘Leven drive thru, ordered a salad with no lettuce and this is what I got……. Are you having a laugh McDonald’s?’

However McDonald’s fans didn’t agree with his complaint and branded him a ‘Karen’ for complaining over receiving ‘exactly what he’d asked for’.

Sarah Megarry said: ‘Would you have been happier if you didn’t get what you asked for?

‘Most people complain about that, it takes a special type of Karen to complain about getting what you asked for.’

Kathy Brown said: ‘What did you expect lol salads are like 80% lettuce.’

James then replied: ‘Maybe more slices of tomato and cucumber?’

Kathy added: ‘We’re not allowed to give you extra just because you’ve removed an item.’

James said: ‘Extra? Even if it had lettuce, one slice of tomato and two slices of cucumber doesn’t constitute a salad!

‘McDonald’s Shaker Salad. Seasonal salad leaves, cucumber and cherry tomatoes’ where are the seasonal leaves, and has the cherry tomato been genetically modified?’

In another exchange, Stefan Gibbs said: ‘So you’re complaining about receiving your order how you asked.’

James said: ‘I ordered a salad not a slice of tomato and two slices of cucumber. I was expecting seasonal salad leaves, cucumber and cherry tomatoes as in their description.

‘Thanks for your comment though, enjoy your day keyboard gangster.’

Stefan said: ‘Lol. No you ordered a salad not lettuce, meaning that they are gonna take out the seasonal leaves as they are classed a[s] lettuce. Maybe they ran out of cherry tomatoes.

‘You’re very welcome happy to help. Hope you enjoy your day to[o] Karen.’
