Woman, 27, who was ‘never happy’ with the way she looked hanged herself after texting her mother

A pole dancer who was ‘never happy’ with the way she looked hanged herself after telling her mother ‘I can not go on like this’, an inquest was told.

Bethany Dove, who worked in pole dancing bars and in a SPAR shop, was found dead in woods near her home in Looe, Cornwall, in June.

The court was told today how she had work done on her nose and teeth but never liked her appearance.

Mother Gloria said her daughter was a ‘sensitive girl’ who had not had much luck with relationships and only ever wanted to settle down.

She described the 27-year-old as having a ‘bubbly personality who loved parties and was popular’.

Bethany had constant arguments with her boyfriend Blake Donnellan and in the hours before she was found hanged, she exchanged texts with him and her mother.

She also posted on social media about being kind because ‘you never know what someone is going through’. 

Furthermore, she left suicide notes at her mother’s home, who she text saying: ‘I can’t go on. I love you. Please read the letters. I love you so much, I cannot find happiness. I don’t want to go on like this.’

Mrs Dove said: ‘She was never happy with herself. She had her teeth and nose done but was never happy.’

She also told her boyfriend that she loved him saying: ‘I am not being silly, I want to go now.’

A police dog handler found Bethany hanged from a tree in the woods. Police said there were no suspicious circumstances. 

The dark haired woman was recognised by her distinctive tattoos.

The Truro inquest heard she did not suffer with depression.

Acting senior coroner for Cornwall Andrew Cox concluded she had taken her own life.
