Tommy Little is FORCED to shave mullet by bosses called it ‘brand damaging’ – leaving fans fuming

Radio star Tommy Little debuted an iconic mullet haircut on the Hit’s The Carrie & Tommy Show earlier this week.    

But the beloved 80s hairstyle has now become the centre of backlash from fans – after he was told to get rid of the ‘brand damaging’ cut by network bosses.  

On Tuesday, Tommy was told by executive producer Sonder Novak-Booth it would need to go or he wouldn’t be able to film the show’s commercial for 2021. 

‘They [the bosses] pretty much said to me its brand damaging. It’s a hard no,’ Sonder said of the haircut, telling Tommy he would need to get rid of it.  

‘But pretty much just cut it off or you can’t be in the commercial,’ she continued. 

Despite the somewhat light-hearted nature of the show, fans on social media erupted with anger at the forced change.

‘Double standards,’ one fan wrote on the show’s Instagram page, presumably over the outrage the network would get if they told co-host Carrie Bickmore how to have her hair. 

Another wrote: ‘If would be in poor taste to make him cut it. What sort of message is that sending? Get with the times guys.’ 

Yet another wrote: ‘Censorship! Is there a clause in Tommy’s contract that says that he has to have his hair cut to YOUR liking? 

They continued: ‘How would Carrie feel if this was being done to to her son? Disgusting, and bullying in my opinion.’ 

However, a number of fans agreed with network bosses saying that the mullet had to go in order for his look to remain professional.   

Tommy ended up agreeing to getting his hair cut on air by Carrie, as part of ‘Carrie’s Cuts’ – with the mullet being awkwardly shaved-off. 

‘We’re going to start with shaving off the mullet back bit,’ Carrie said, as she drove the razor up the back of Tommy’s head.  

As the segment continued it was Tommy who kept moving his head while Carrie was cutting his hair.   

Despite the playful segment ending with Tommy rid of the mullet. A number of fans were less than impressed with the iconic hairstyle gone.   

‘It’s unfair that his work made him cut his hair, cause they weren’t happy with his style. Tommy was happy with his new look which I thought it was not bad.’
