Tom Parker’s wife Kelsey reveals their dog had to have a leg amputated

Tom Parker’s wife Kelsey has revealed the couple’s dog Buddy sadly had to get one of his legs amputated after he was hit by a van.

Kelsey, 30, took to Instagram and shared the sad news, revealing the accident happened while she was 36 weeks pregnant with their son Bodhi, four months.

The Wanted singer, 32, and his other half were on their way to his radiotherapy and chemotherapy treatment as he continues to battle a terminal brain tumour when she received a call from her brother telling her what happened.

She wrote: ‘There was never a right time to ever post this. However Buddy was hit by a van back in September. He had to have his leg and tail amputated.

‘Tom and I were on our way to London, I was 36 weeks pregnant and we were on day 2 of treatment (Radiotherapy and Chemotherapy)

‘When I got a phone call from my older Brother Sammy who said “Kelsey I have some bad news! Buddy’s just been run over outside Mums. I had to call you as it’s not looking good. They have rushed him to the vets.”

‘Honestly my brother is the least dramatic person. From that call I thought we had lost him.’

Kelsey continued: ‘We were so panicked and my Mum called to say “Kelsey he is stable but his leg is so badly damaged the only options is to amputate”.

‘They had also found a kebab stick in his rectum that had missed every vital organ in his body- this dog truly was a walking miracle so I said whatever it takes we must do.

‘Buddy underwent surgery to have his leg amputated. He came home the next day and completely bounced back. The vets have been so shocked at his recovery.

‘Buddy is living with my auntie atm as it’s a bit too much to give him the love and attention he needs. We love him so much and he is doing amazing on his three legs, we are so proud of him.

‘Buddy is an amazing dog he is our miracle dog – Just like Tom. Miracle buddy. Miracle Tom.’

Kelsey accompanied the post with two pictures of Buddy after he had his amputation.

It comes after Tom shared a gushing tribute to his wife thanking her for helping him ‘through the darkest of days’ after his terminal brain tumour diagnosis.

Sharing a sweet image with their children – Aurelia, 15 months, and Bodhi – after a walk around their street, Tom credited their ‘out of the ordinary’ love with getting the family through the tough recent months.

He gushed: ‘It’s not what we have in life but who we have in our life that matters. My Family. My cheerleaders.

‘The darkest days have been awful and I’ll never forget them (well my short term memory might.

‘The tearful days, The couldn’t get out of bed days, the days when I couldn’t face food, the days when I couldn’t even walk up the stairs.

‘People say to us “How do you do it?” I’ll tell you how…….LOVE. Love is how you do it.

‘Our love for one another has always been something out of the ordinary and it is what has got us through the darkest of days. Love conquers all.’

In the adorable image accompanying Tom’s touching caption, the doting father-of-two can be seen gazing into Kelsey’s eyes as he beams a grin.

Kelsey looks equally smitten with her beau as she smiles back at him while rocking a bright red jacket and grey t-shirt.

Their adorable daughter Aurelia also ensured to put on a very cute display as she held her hands up to her head during her parents loved-up moment.

Kelsey also shared the same sweet family snap, revealing that it was taken on one of their daily walks which they started to challenge Tom during his health battle.

She wrote: ‘Young (ish) crazy and totally in love ❤️

‘Just two parents trying to get by day to day In this crazy world with 2 kids under 2…….oh and a husband with a brain tumour.

‘When @tomparkerofficial was first diagnosed he seemed to detoriate quite suddenly, he was in such a state of shock and trauma- some days to even get out of bed was such a struggle. Some days I wanted to curl under the duvet and not face the world.

‘We had to keep going for the sake of our babies. We set a goal and it was for Tom to walk to the end of our road. Now we all know Mr Parker loves a challenge!!’

‘I am beyond proud of him and I will keep shouting it from the roof top. Here we are on our daily walk and we no longer walk the end of the road, it’s a very long walk now (round the block)

‘Life is tough my darlings but when you have what you love you have everything you need. Set a goal and push forward.’

Alongside the sweet snap, Kelsey wrote: ‘One Step at a time. When we were given @tomparkerofficial diagnosis, a day I will never forget. The doctor said, listen one step at a time.

‘At the time I thought what on earth does he even mean, my husband has just been told he has stage 4 cancer?! However I now know exactly what he meant and those words ring so true to me.’

Kelsey admitted that some days she just goes to the bathroom and cries, while detailing her good and bad days.

‘Every day is a new day. Some bad, some totally horrendous and some days are good days. People say to me “I don’t know how you do it?” I’ll be honest with you. I don’t know either, there are days I go to the bathroom and cry.

‘My heart beams with pride when I look at how far my husband has come- he really is my inspiration. One step at a time, it’s ok to take each day as it comes. #glioblastomaawareness #glioblastoma.’

The post came hours after Tom, who is classed as extremely vulnerable after being diagnosed with a terminal brain tumour, revealed he’s had his first Covid vaccination.

Tom, who recently revealed his tumour has ‘significantly reduced’ and is ‘responding well’ to treatment, urged fans to ‘just get it done so we can move on with our lives.’
