Comedian Tom Allen appeared on Good Morning Britain today looking ‘immaculate’ in a full suit and tie, despite being in quarantine due to the worsening coronavirus crisis.

The host of The Apprentice: You’re Fired, 36, from Bromley, South London, appeared on the show via video link today, to discuss his BBC2 radio show ‘Funny Fortnight’.

And although he said he was ‘sort of’ self-isolating at home with his parents, the funnyman donned a pinstripe suit and pink tie for his TV appearance.

After his chat, host Adil Ray, 45, pointed out that Tom had still made an effort to wear his suit, and the radio host insisted that he will ‘always’ look his best, despite the global health pandemic.

Adil quizzed Tom: ‘I was just going to ask you, are you self-isolating? Because if you are, I love the fact you get up and put on a lovely suit and a pink tie and look immaculate.’

Tom replied: ‘Well quite rightly, I am sort of isolating, and I would always wear a suit. And the other thing I heard, don’t have a desk bed, and get up.

‘But yes, I am self isolating. I live with my mum and dad, I try to keep away from them, not because they get on my nerves, because I’m trying not to put them at risk in any way.’

Viewers loved seeing Tom looking smart, with one insisting his ‘dapper’ outfit ‘lifted their spirit’, while another called the interview the ‘best thing they’ve seen’ amid the crisis.

He said: ‘I think it can be a great friend in the same way as television.  In any capacity we want to lift people’s spirits the best we can. It’s difficult if you’re self isolating to feel like you’re not on your own. ‘

He went on to say that ‘now more than ever’ people ‘need to laugh’ and felt the show would be a great form of ‘relief’ from the pandemic.

‘For me it’s always good to be together and laugh’, said Tom, ‘Because you think “oh I was the only one who thought that” and you feel less alone in the world generally.

‘I think now more than ever that’s true and I think it’s a way to feel relief and laugh about anything and get through it, and they say that having a laugh can literally raise your spirit.’
