  • Two more people are also believed to have been injured in the accident
  • The crash happened in the city of Wesel around 35 miles north of Dusseldorf
  • Firefighters and police are at the scene and the area has been cordoned off 

Three people are feared dead after a small plane crashed into an apartment building and burst into flames in Germany. 

Two more people – including one child – are also believed to have been injured in the accident, which happened in Wesel, around 35 miles north of Dusseldorf.  

The pilot is still missing, according to local media.

Witnesses told local media that the light aircraft had collided with a hot-air balloon shortly before the crash. 

Firefighters and police are at the scene and the area has been cordoned off. 

The roof of the apartment building caught fire after the plane crashed into it, a police spokesman said.
