An Australian mum has revealed her go-to ‘can’t be bothered cooking’ meal and says her kids absolutely love it.

The mum simply makes a ‘pick plate’ for her children when she doesn’t feel like spending hours in the kitchen.

She posted a photo of the plate online to show other mums how easy dinner can be – the plate includes cut up grapes and banana, some cheese, corn and meat from a dim sim.

Hundreds of mums reacted to the post admitting they do the same thing – or agreed it is an ‘amazing’ idea.

‘It has fruit, vegetable, dairy and possibly some form of protein in that dim sim. It’s a balanced meal,’ a mum said.

‘My son had peas and corn, home made sausage rolls and home made chips. It was a can’t be bothered dinner here too,’ one woman said.

‘That’s a nightly thing for my three-year-old and one-year-old,’ said another.

Another mum said her son’s favourite dinner is ‘freezer dive night’.

‘It’s not often so they rejoice when it happens – often they find some nuggets, stray fries and dumplings,’ she said.

‘As long as they eat it and it has some nutrients I don’t mind,’ one woman said.

One mum of a two-year-old admitted sometimes they just have toast for dinner and said ‘food is food’.

‘My five-year-old has cheese, bacon and apple nearly every freaking night. It’s all we can get her to eat. I’m with you, food’s food,’ another agreed.
