The Block’s glamorous granddads Mark McKie and Mitch Edwards film renovation show

Mark McKie, 57, and Mitch Edwards, 56, became breakout stars of the 2019 season of The Block.

And the Sydney couple are putting their newfound fame to good use, filming a new show at their Newport, Sydney home this weekend.  

Mitch opted for a pair of white and grew overalls as he did some renovations at his luxury seaside home. 

He added a pair of well-used work boots in a dark grey tone and wore a matching slate shirt.

Mark wore a pair of dark blue pants which were paint splattered and clearly recently used. 

He added a high visibility shirt in orange and grey, which also had paint splatter on the front. 

In some of the photos, the couple were installing some cupboards with Mitch brandishing a drill. 

In others, they engaged in some painting and tiling as they renovated their kitchen at their home. 

It’s understood Mark and Mitch are filming a pilot for a new home renovation series.

A controversial pair on the show last year, known for stirring some drama, Mark and Mitch were the favourites to win The Block, but they ultimately finished last. 

They have been spending time renovating their recently purchased 1970s house in Sydney’s Newport where they paid a reported $1.7million. 

Mark and Mitch certainly have renovating experience, aside from The Block, having reworked 15 homes in their 14 years together.
