Tesla is rear-ended inside a CAR WASH when SUV driver forgets to put their car in neutral and causes $2,000 worth of damage

  • Nissan SUV smashed into the Tesla Model 3 on Saturday in Chandler, Arizona
  • It caused damage to the back of the car but the Nissan ‘looked a bit worse’
  • Tesla owner caught the crash on the car’s rear window camera at the car wash

A driver hoping to spruce up his Tesla at a car wash instead ended up looking at $2,000 of damage after his vehicle was rear-ended on the conveyor belt.

The Tesla Model 3’s rear camera caught the moment a Nissan SUV rammed straight into the back of it in Chandler, Arizona, on Saturday.

The Nissan driver had forgotten to put the SUV in neutral and the Tesla’s owner said the damage to the Nissan ‘looked a bit worse’ than his own.

In the video, jets of water wash down the rear window of the Tesla as the Nissan rolls on to the conveyor belt.

Both cars are carried through the car wash before the Tesla stops at the next section.

But the Nissan continues to move forward before smacking into the back of the Tesla.

It bounces off the back of the Tesla and stops, pushing the Model 3 forward a little, as a car wash worker approaches Nissan.

The owner said: ‘I was getting my car washed in my Tesla Model 3. It was a conveyor model wash that pulls your car through and you put your car in neutral.

‘The car behind me did not do that and drove straight through and into the back of me.

‘The back of my Tesla had minimal damage, approximately $2,000 worth, while the front of his Nissan SUV looked a bit worse.’
