TALK OF THE TOWN: Singer Pearl Lowe puts her seven-bedroom Somerset country mansion up for rent for £12,500 a week
Fancy self-isolating at Pearl Lowe’s country pad? The former member of the notorious Primrose Hill Set has put her uniquely styled seven-bedroom house up for rent for an eye-watering £12,500 a week.
The former singer is known for her love of vintage interiors and she has decorated the property in Frome, Somerset – called Pearl’s Place – with a dizzying array of patterns and colours.
The listing on the holiday rentals website claims: ‘Everything about Pearl’s Place was designed with the hedonist in mind. Gather in the seductive dining room for long nights of champagne and laughter; recline on a thick rug by an open fire; and sink into an enormous, claw-footed bathtub.’

His voice is famous the world over, but Art Garfunkel has been harbouring a secret fear for years: he thinks he sounds like a woman when he sings. ‘It’s too fragile,’ the stranger half of Simon & Garfunkel gripes. ‘What’s a man doing being so feminine, so perfect? It’s not manly.’ Feminine, maybe, but it’s also made him an estimated £55 million.
Crisis-hit Emily legs it to Rio…
When David Cameron’s sister-in-law Emily Sheffield set up a new media app at the end of last year, she claimed she was broke, in the middle of a midlife crisis and had only four months’ cash left to pay her team.
How miraculous, then, that Emily has found the money for a holiday to Rio.
Posting from sunny Ipanema, Emily writes: ‘Such a strange time to be away but making the most of it.’
Doesn’t sound too bad to me…
