Studio 10’s Kerri-Anne Kennerley is caught insulting a journalist on air

Studio 10’s Kerri-Anne Kennerley is caught insulting a journalist in a ‘hot mic’ outburst – leaving her co-hosts SHOCKED and costing her employer ‘quite a bit of money’

She has worked in the media for more than five decades, so it’s unsurprising Kerri-Anne Kennerley has had her fair share of on-air gaffes.

The 66-year-old Studio 10 host revealed on Friday that her big mouth had landed her in trouble when she was working as a radio announcer in the 1990s.

She made unflattering comments about a journalist during a commercial break and didn’t realise her microphone was still on.

Whoops! Studio 10 host Kerri-Anne Kennerley (pictured) revealed on Friday that her big mouth had landed her in trouble when she was working as a radio announcer in the 1990s

She said: ‘It was a commercial break and my panel operator asked me a question about something that was written in the previous day’s newspaper.

‘I explained how unhappy and unsatisfied with the journalist [I was] and probably gave her a bit of a critique that wasn’t that flattering.’

Unfortunately, Kerri-Anne’s comments were broadcast when the program resumed for a news bulletin, leaving her colleagues shocked.

While she did not specify the radio station she was working at, Kerri-Anne said the gaffe had cost her employer, John Singleton, ‘quite a bit of money’.

However, she defended herself by saying her defamatory remarks about the unidentified journalist were ‘true’.

These days, she ‘doesn’t care’ about making mistakes.

‘Like I’ve always said, the only redeeming factor with being old is you don’t give a toss,’ she said.
