Candid: Natalie Lowe, 39, has admitted she ‘couldn’t leave the house’ and ‘felt wrong for feeling sad’ as she discussed the grief of suffering two miscarriages

Natalie first became pregnant three weeks before her wedding to husband James Knibbs in Australia in 2018, but at a scan shortly after getting off her flight, she was told she had miscarried.

Three months after her first miscarriage, the dancer discovered that she was pregnant again, while on her honeymoon in South Africa with James, but two months later Natalie received the same devastating news that she’d miscarried.

Speaking to OK! Magazine, Natalie said: ‘For a long time after my miscarriages I didn’t realise the grief was pulling me down.

I was told two miscarriages was nothing to worry about so I almost felt wrong for feeling as sad as I did. I became numb and put up a barrier.’

The Strictly star confessed: ‘I couldn’t leave the house to go to my local yoga studio. That’s how much I hit rock bottom.’

Natalie star also attributed ‘opening up’ and one-on-one therapy to helping her get through the incredibly difficult time.

Natalie and James married in a secret beach ceremony in Sydney in January 2018 after a two-year engagement, and finally became parents to Jack just 6 months ago.

Looking to the future, when asked about plans for a second child, the dancer admitted: ‘we’re going to let nature take its course but we’d love another one.’

Just last week, Natalie announced on her Instagram page that she was becoming an ambassador for Miscarriage Association and helping with their Miles That Matter campaign.

Alongside a video of herself announcing the news, she wrote: ‘I am thrilled to announce that I will be working with @miscarriageassociation.

‘They were there for me when I suffered two miscarriages and my hope is that they will continue to help many more people for many years to come.

‘In recent months however, their work has become even more important as they’ve seen a 40% increase in calls from women sadly suffering while in lockdown.

‘Which is why I’m supporting their Miles That Matter campaign, to raise funds to keep their helplines going for another 100 days.’
