A woman has paid tribute to her brother and his ‘inseparable’ wife who were killed when a Mercedes crashed into a wall.

Aleah Khan said Kyle Khan, 26, and Meesha Afzal, 22, meant the ‘whole world to her’ following the early hours crash in Solihull on Sunday.

The ‘much-loved’ couple from Sparkhill, who were travelling with friends, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Ms Khan, 19, said she went on their two-week honeymoon to Morocco in February 2018 because she was so close to her ‘best friends’.

She told Birmingham Live: ‘They were inseparable. We were a trio. My big brother was always there to protect me. Meesha is my sister-in-law, but I call her my sister.

‘She was the best thing that’s ever happened to my family. Kyle and Meesha meant the whole world and more to me.

‘They both were so generous, caring, clean hearted and down to earth. They were so humble.’

She said Ms Afzal, a carer, and Mr Khan, a courier driver, were ‘deeply in love with each other’.

Ms Khan said she may also have been in the car that crashed had she not felt tired that night.

She said: ‘Kyle and Meesha were inseparable. No matter where they went, they were together. They used to drag me along with me everywhere they went.

‘They were so deeply in love with each other. They never left each other’s side. Even on their honeymoon, they begged me to come with them.

‘They were both so pure and clean hearted. They were not judgemental at all. They gave the best advice ever.

‘Meesha’s parents and brothers absolutely adored Kyle. So did we with Meesha. Not only have I lost my brother and sister in law – I lost my best friends.

‘I lost my whole world. I am very happy that they’ve departed this world on good terms with everyone.

‘The one day I refused to go out with them.. that’s the one day that they died. I hope they rest in peace my baby angels.’

Ms Khan said they had all been ‘laughing and playing around’ just an hour before they died. The pair left the family home in Birmingham at about 1.30am, she added.

She said: ‘Kyle and Meesha kissed and hugged me and my mum. They were begging me to go with them. I told them I’m tired, but I’ll go with them another day.

‘I asked Kyle to get me a packet of crisps and a drink on the way back home. Meesha told me to stay awake until they’re back so when they’re home we can all play a game. Unfortunately, they didn’t return home.

‘They were going for a drive with their best friends. They work very hard in the day so the only time they have is at night.

‘They always like to go towards Solihull as it has lovely scenery and they know the area like the back of their hands.

‘Unfortunately they hit into a wall. They both were wearing their seatbelts. They were given CPR.

‘Nothing could revive them and they both died at the same time 2.35am. They went together.’

The other two in the grey Mercedes A200 – the driver and a passenger – were taken to hospital with ‘serious injuries’.

Bouquets of flowers had been left at the scene by well-wishers as scores of people paid tribute.

West Midlands Police Detective Sergeant Paul Hughes said: ‘This is a tragic time for the families of those involved, and we have specially trained officers who will be supporting them through the difficult time ahead.

‘The investigation is at a really early stage, and we’re trying to establish exactly what happened and why.

‘I’d urge anyone who saw the Mercedes driving in the area, or who may have captured anything on dash-cam footage, to get in touch with us as soon as possible.’
