In the dramatic clip the digger pushes the plank of wood into the wheel of the Ford to spin the back end of the car out of the way and into the road.

At one point the wooden plank slips away from the wheel with a loud crack as someone in the crowd of people watching tells the man wearing blue to be careful.

A police car drives past bizarre scene and the crowd cheer and laugh as it passes by.

The plank bends under the pressure and a large crack is heard as the wood snaps and falls to the floor causing the car to shake in the middle of the road.

The footage ends without any sign of the car’s owner, whose reaction to the incident is not known.

However, viewers of the footage, which was shared on social media on June 9, gave a mixed reaction.

Ian Griggs commented: ‘Yeah very funny I think a lot of people would laugh about this until it was done to them.’

Ricky Allen said: ‘No reason to do this. There was room to get in and out around the back of the car.’
