An NHS worker has been branded a ‘legend’ after he was spotted sashaying out of a ward in the background of a TV report.
Craig Richardson, who has worked at Royal Bolton Hospital for a year, became a viral sensation for his sassy strut caught on camera by ITV Granada Reports.
A clip of the moment was shared to Twitter, where it racked up more than 17,800 retweets and 104,200 likes.
Craig also shared the video to his TikTok account over the weekend, captioning it: ‘It’s my walk for me. I knew in that moment it was my time to shine.’

Speaking to Granada Reports, Craig told how it’s important to him to help ‘keep spirits up’ among his team and his patients.
‘They all love it though, I go in and I make them feel happy and stuff. We hydrate them and we make them feel better,’ he said.
‘We just don’t know what’s what and what’s coming next do we really? We try and keep spirits up, it’s what we need to do, as a team we just all collectively look after each other.’
Social media users likened Craig to contestants on BBC Three’s RuPaul Drag Race, while others praised his upbeat attitude, with one dubbing him ‘a little ray of light in these dark times’.

Granada Reports visited Royal Bolton, which serves a large catchment area, to highlight the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The hospital is one of the region’s busiest, and staff have said the care they are able to give patients is suffering due to them being so stretched.
Less than a month after moving from his job in a care home to the hospital, Craig told how it began to take in Covid patients, which made the job ‘dramatically different’.
Staff are currently looking after more than 130 patients in intensive and critical care, across five new Covid wards.
Last month 78 people died, bringing the total in the hospital to 571, ITV reports.
