The Duchess of Cambridge appeared to pay tribute to her late mother-in-law with her choice of gown for a virtual appearance yesterday.

Kate Middleton, 38, took part in a minute-long mental health message recorded at her Norfolk home of Anmer Hall, where she told listeners that it is ‘okay to ask’ how  loved ones are coping during the coronavirus pandemic.

The mother-of-three donned a £550 pretty red floral gown by Beulah London for the virtual appearance, with the dress featuring a bold white collar.

Royal fans were quick to point out that the dress appeared remarkably similar to one worn by Princess Diana during a trip to Oman in November 1986.

Kate Middleton, 38, opted for a red floral dress from one of her favourite labels Beulah London for a broadcast yesterday from her home on Anmer Hall in Norfolk

The rose red Calla shirt dress from the British brand is described online as evoking a ‘classic mood’.

Crafted from silk crepe de chine, the dress is trimmed with a contrasting white cotton broderie lace collar and also features cuffed balloon sleeves.

The dress – which is currently still available online in sizes through 6-16, comes with a pricetag of £550.

Kate completed her look by cascading her glossy brunette hair over her shoulders with loose waves.

Some 10 per cent of profits from all sales of the dress goes towards helping bring an end to modern day slavery.

Beulah London, co-founded by Lady Natasha Rufus Isaacs and Lavinia Brennan in 2010, has become a go-to label for Kate, who has stepped out in the designs on a number of occasions.

Royal fan account @PrincessDianaIconic couldn’t help but highlight the similarities between the look with one of Princess Diana’s.

It is the first time all commercial, community, and all BBC stations – including national and local – have united in broadcasting the same message simultaneously. It is estimated some 20million people listened to the message live.

As part of the broadcast, the Duchess said: ‘If you’re struggling, it’s important to talk about it. Or if someone you know is acting differently, it’s OK to ask how they are. Use this moment to send a message.’
