Rebel Wilson performs a gruelling tyre flipping exercise after losing 18kg

Rebel Wilson is certainly committed to her gruelling workout regimen.

In a post on Instagram on Monday, the 40-year-old actress shared a video of herself flipping a heavy-looking tyre down a driveway.

Straining against the weight of the tyre, the red-faced Pitch Perfect star repeatedly lifted the wheel and flipped it down the sloped pavement.

A male voice, believed to be that of her personal trainer Jono Castano, could be heard encouraging the actress from behind the camera.

As she neared the end, she began to grunt, before victoriously flexing her biceps.

‘Starting the week off right! Look out @chrishemsworth & @liamhemsworth. Australia’s latest action hero is turning it up!’ she captioned the post.

Rebel looked workout-ready in a pair of light blue exercise tights, which she paired with a fitted black T-shirt.

She also wore white sneakers and a baseball cap, and her long blonde hair was tied up in a ponytail.

Responding to a fan in the comments section, Rebel admitted ‘there’s no easy way to get fit and healthy’.

She also shared videos of her workout on Instagram Stories, adding the captions ‘I’m soooo TIRE-ed’ and ‘This tire is filthy BTW! #level1000’.   

It was revealed last month that The Hustle actress is believed to have lost 18 kilos in her weight loss journey so far.

According to a report by People in June, Rebel’s remarkable transformation is partially down to following the Mayr Method diet plan.

A source told the publication she got ‘amazing results’ by changing her eating habits while staying at the luxe Austrian health and wellness retreat Vivamayr last year, and has continued on with the plan. 

‘It’s an approach that eliminates food intolerances, reduces sugar, encourages eating whole foods slowly, boosts the immune system and reduces inflammation,’ said the source.

‘She exercises with a personal trainer up to six times a week, goes on walks and is trying to up her protein intake nutritionally.’

They added: ‘I know she’s also been working on conquering her emotional eating patterns of behaviour.’  

Rebel announced she was embarking on a ‘health’ journey in January this year, and she’s been militant about sticking to her plan ever since.

‘Okay so for me 2020 is going to be called “The Year of Health”,’ she began in a post on Instagram at the time.

‘I put on the athleisure and went out for a walk, deliberately hydrating on the couch right now and trying to avoid the sugar and junk food which is going to be hard after the holidays I’ve just had but I’m going to do it!’

In a post on Instagram in May, Rebel revealed she was trying to get down to her goal weight of 75 kilos.

‘I’ll be honest with you guys – with my “Year of Health” mission I’m trying to get to 75kg’s,’ she wrote, adding, ‘There’s constant setbacks – but I’m working hard.’
