Prince Charles and Camilla visit Asda distribution centre

The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall have visited an Asda distribution centre to thank staff who have worked throughout the coronavirus pandemic.

Charles, 71, and Camilla, 72, met some of the 700 workers at the Asda centre in Bristol on Thursday, as well as drivers and those based at nearby stores.

The event took place in a marquee outside the building, with people keeping two metres apart.

Staff told the royal couple how they had worked extra hours and different shift patterns, as well as postponing holidays, to cope with increased demand.

Camilla cut a stylish figure in a timeless cream dress and jacket, which she coordinated with a matching scarf and camel-coloured shoes. 

She accessorised with a pair of dangling pearl earrings and completed the look with a couple of dainty gold bracelets.

Meanwhile, Charles oped for a dark grey suit, which he paired with a light blue shirt and dark blue, patterned tie,

The royal family have been slowly returning to public duties as lockdown restrictions have been relaxed.

Charles has already attended a ceremony welcoming France’s President Macron to the UK and met health and care workers at a hospital in Gloucester last month.

Last week, he visited Transport for London (TfL) training centre to thank London Underground staff for working during the coronavirus pandemic.

There, he met contract cleaners and station staff at Ashfield House, near West Kensington station in west London, which was hosted by London Mayor Sadiq Khan, chairman of TfL.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have also been meeting the public, visiting local businesses close to their Norfolk home.
