Police issue ‘extremely urgent appeal’ to track down missing 16-year-old schoolgirl who disappeared from her home on New Year’s Eve

Police have issued an ‘extremely urgent appeal,’ to find a missing 16-year-old girl who vanished from her home on New Year’s Eve.

Jodie Bettany, from Ingoldmells, Lincolnshire, was last seen going to bed at her home on Wednesday night.

The following morning, she had disappeared from her room.  

Officers desperately searching for the teenager believe she may have left her home and travelled to the Merseyside area.

Jodie is described as having long dark blonde hair, being of petite build, 5ft tall and may be wearing a black bomber coat with a fur hood.

A Lincolnshire Police spokesperson said: ‘We are issuing an extremely urgent appeal to find missing teenager Jodie Bettany.

‘Jodie was last seen in Ingoldmells in her room last night and reported missing at 9.15 this morning after her room was found empty.

‘Jodie may have travelled to the Merseyside area, either last night or today, but is possibly still in the county or elsewhere.’

Anyone with information on Jodie’s whereabouts is asked to call police on 101, quoting reference number 83 of December 31.
