  • The two-year-old boy was taken to hospital the same day but died earlier today
  • Two people, believed to be the boy’s parents, were arrested by police

The parents of a two-year-old boy who died in hospital have been arrested on suspicion of assault and neglect.

The toddler was taken to hospital on Friday morning after police were called to his house.

Police confirmed that the tragic youngster died this morning.

Two people, believed to be the boy’s parents, have been arrested.

Detectives are investigating the circumstances leading up to his death in Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire.

A police spokesperson said: ‘The child has tragically passed away in hospital today.

‘Our thoughts are with the family at this difficult time.

‘The family are supported by specialist trained officers.

‘Two people have been arrested on suspicion of assault and neglect, and the investigation is ongoing.’
