A mum has wowed the internet with a money-saving trick that is so simple that thousands are saying they wish they had been doing it their entire lives.

Brooke, from Brisbane, used a Facebook post to reveal that she and her family store bread in slices of two in Ziploc bags so that none goes to waste and they are never caught without it.

‘A simple but useful trick,’ Brooke said.

‘As it’s only my son and I we don’t go through a lot of bread, I always freeze it in slices of two so none goes to waste and we always have fresh bread.’

Hundreds were impressed with the simple trick, writing comments like ‘this is awesome’ and ‘such a handy idea’.

‘Great job for school lunches, half the job done,’ one mum posted.

‘I just take out two slices the night before so they are ready to make his sandwich for kindy in the morning,’ another added.

Some even went as far as to say that they freeze their own slices with spread ready made on top of it, so the bread is ready to go when they are packing lunches for their children.

‘I’m on my own and have kept my bread in the fridge,’ one woman posted.

‘Now I’m changing to this method. Thanks for sharing.’

This isn’t the first storage method that has wowed the internet, with a fellow Australian mother previously sharing her ‘game-changing’ mince storage hack.

‘We buy ground beef in bulk and Ziploc it into smaller portions,’ Ellen wrote.

‘Then we flatten it with a rolling pin to save space in the freezer and it thaws faster.’
