A driver narrowly avoided a head-on crash when they pulled into a turn lane to go left – before changing their mind and heading straight towards a car waiting to turn right from the opposite direction.
Dashcam footage shows the erratic driver then swerving further into the wrong side of the road to avoid the collision at traffic lights in Palestine, Texas, on Sunday night.

In the video, filmed at 5.31pm, the driver with the dash cam slows down as they approach a set of traffic lights behind a white pick-up truck.
Ahead of them, a driver in a black car pulls into the turning lane as if to take a left.
But, as the lights change, the black car does not turn and instead continues to head straight ahead.
Realising at the last minute that there is a car directly in front of them, waiting to turn right from the opposite direction, the driver of the black car swerves even further onto the wrong side of the road.
He avoids a collision and then scoots back over to the correct side of the road, in front of the astonished filmer’s car.

The video taker said: ‘Dashcam video I recorded on my Roav S1 Dashcam on July 12, 2020.
‘A car in front of me uses the turn lane in a unique way and manages to get away with it.’
The footage comes after the governor of Texas warned he could reimpose a lockdown on the state if coronavirus prevention measures were not heeded last Friday.
