A middle-aged man allegedly used a fishing rod to steal a Versace necklace from a jewellery store.
The late night-heist happened at Le Style, a high-end store in Little Collins Street, in central Melbourne on Monday February 24.
The gold designer necklace, which features the iconic medusa head is worth $799.
In the CCTV footage, a balding man in grey tracksuit pants and a blue Lonsdale windcheater can be seen carrying a fishing rod as he approaches the store at 2am.

From the street, he allegedly forced the fishing rod through a tiny gap in the door and attempted to hook the necklace.
He was fishing for nearly three hours before landing his catch, police said.
Investigators have released images and CCTV footage of a man who they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.
He has been described as white with short and fair receding hair.
Police believe he is aged between 40 to 50 years.
