‘I was in a pretty dark place’: Married At First Sight’s Drew Brauer reveals the REAL reason his ex-fiancée left him just eight weeks before their wedding

He was thrilled to marry KC Osborne on Monday’s episode of Married At First Sight.

But Drew Brauer has been burned before, having split with his former fiancée just eight weeks before their wedding day.

On Tuesday, the 31-year-old explained how the shock break-up made his mental health spiral to a ‘dark place’.

Burned before: On Tuesday, Married At First Sight’s Drew Brauer (pictured) revealed why he split with his former fiancée just weeks before their wedding

‘There was nothing bad that happened, she just felt like she didn’t want to go through with the wedding at the time,’ Drew told news.com.au.

He added: ‘I was blindsided and very hurt and instead of trying to work stuff out I put my f**k you pants on. My pride was hurt.’

As he struggled with his mental health, Drew admitted he ‘isolated’ himself, rather than reaching out for help.

‘I did all the wrong things. I isolated myself, I didn’t tell anyone about what had happened or how I was feeling. I stopped working out. I went downhill very quickly.’

Drew eventually rediscovered his passion for music, quitting his job as a FIFO worker to pursue it as a career.

He also started volunteering at numerous charities in Cairns, before creating his own mental health charity, Kick On.

On the Kick On website, Drew further explains his philosophy: ‘I want to help build self-awareness, mental resilience and teach people about the correlation between physical health and mental health.

‘To empower the community to make positive changes for themselves, and for their fellow humans to make the world a better and far happier place!’
