‘Kidnapped’ girl, 15, is rescued by police as they stop car on motorway and arrest three men and a woman for child abduction

A teenage girl has been saved from abduction after police used a stinger to stop a car near Bromsgrove, Worcestershire   

Specially trained officers were sent out to stop a vehicle on the M42 after West Mercia Police was alerted to the fact a girl who had been kidnapped was possibly inside the vehicle.

Specially trained officers deployed a ‘stinger’ to bring the car to a safe stop and the teenager was found and taken into care. 

Three men and one woman were detained and arrested on suspicion of abduction and taken to a police station in Hereford following the incident last week. 

All four were collected from custody at Hereford Police Station by Northamptonshire Police the following morning. 

Worcestershire Police’s Operations Patrol Unit tweeted: ‘A shift assisted this evening with a tactical stop on this vehicle M5/M42. Four Romanians arrested and now in custody for the abduction of a 15-year-old. We will continue to tackle organised crime!’
