Jake Quickenden ‘unable to do exercise for SIX MONTHS after rupturing muscle on SAS: Who Dares Wins’

Jake Quickenden will reportedly be unable to do any exercise for six months after rupturing his pectoral muscle on SAS: Who Dares Wins.

The TV personality, 32, was said to have been rushed to London from Scotland during filming for a gruelling four-hour operation on Monday.

Jake will now reportedly have to sustain from any physical exercise for six months and will need to wear a sling for at least eight weeks.

A source told The Sun: ‘Jake ended up being in surgery for five hours on Monday as the injury he sustained on SAS was worse than thought.’

They added: ‘Jake won’t be doing any physical sport or exercise for up to six months and will have to wear a sling for at least two months. 

‘It’s a devastating blow for him. In his heart he knew he wouldn’t be able to return to SAS but having been told by the doctors the extent of the injury it’s really hit home.’

The source claimed that Jake’s pectoral muscle had ‘ruptured’ and it had to be ‘glued back’ to his bone.

Last month, it was claimed that Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins had been plunged into ‘chaos’ after Jake suffered an injury with Ulrika Jonsson and Vicky Pattison also quitting the show after finding the challenges too much. 

MailOnline has contacted both Jake and SAS: Who Dares Wins for comment.    

It comes after Jake revealed he had undergone a four-hour operation on his arm on Monday.   

The TV personality took to Instagram to share photographs of himself in his hospital bed as he was given morphine to cope with the pain.

Giving a thumbs up while masked up for gas-and-air, Jake appeared to be in good spirits as a tray of food lay in front of him, and admitted he was: ‘pretty high’.

Jake – who is preparing to become a father for the first time – went into hospital expecting a two-hour operation but ended up being kept under for four hours while surgeons worked their magic. 

The reality star captioned his post-surgery snap: ‘Straight out, straight on that club sandwich. Op went well ended up being under four hours!! Pretty high right now but we good!! Road to recovery begins…. blesses.’ 

Jake has since returned home where he has been keeping his followers updated with his recovery.  

Earlier in the day, Jake shared a photograph of himself lying in his hospital bed, as he joked about posing with a leg in the air, ahead of his operation.

He wrote alongside: ‘I asked for fishnets and they said no…. I’ve never felt so sexy, do you wear underwear in the gowns….. asking for a mate!!

Jake revealed that his birth name is in fact Jacob as he showed off his wrist band and signed off his Instagram posts. 

MailOnline contacted Jake’s representatives for comment at the time. 

Just last week, Jake kissed pregnant girlfriend Sophie Church’s, 27, bump in an adorable new snap posted to his Instagram account.  

The couple, who have been dating since June 2018, announced they were expecting a baby last month, following a ‘tough’ miscarriage last year. 

The baby will be Jake’s first child, while Sophie is already a mum to Freddie, six, from a previous relationship.
