An Irish mob boss that was hell-bent on getting revenge for his friend’s murder allegedly gave the order to kill and dismember a 17-year-old boy.

The gang leader is believed to have hired a hitman to kill Keane Mulready-Woods as part of the vicious Drogheda feud.

He is alleged to have hired the assassin after Richard Carberry was shot to death outside his home in Bettystown, County Meath, in November last year.

The hired murderer is well-known to police and is believed to be behind a number of murders – including that of Kenneth Finn in February 2018.

Mr Finn worked for Mr Big, a rival gang in Drogheda that is run by associates of Owen Maguire – who was paralysed after being shot six times in July 2018.

At least 26 people have died in feuds between rival gangs in Ireland in the last five years, but the violence dramatically escalated on Sunday when Keane Mulready-Woods was beheaded and dismembered in a videotaped killing in the town of Drogheda.

A source told The Sun: ‘The mob boss is the sort of character that is operating in the background and under the radar.

Mulready-Woods was abducted from the streets of Drogheda and taken to a pebble dash home, where he was tortured and murdered.

‘He wanted revenge for the Carberry murder because he was a pal of his.

‘The hired man is one of the chief suspects in the Mulready-Woods case. He’s a complete and utter psychopath.’

The source went on to claim that the mob boss has developed a drug habit recently and the resulting paranoia has affected his decisions.
