The interviewee mentored by Meghan Markle over video call landed an internship after taking part in the one-to-one coaching session, it has been revealed. 

Krisi Uzunova, from London, was taking part in a video call with Smart Works to prepare for an internship interview in March when Meghan, 38, suddenly joined the call.  

SmartWorks today revealed Krisi’s interview was successful and she will be starting her internship this summer.

‘Our patron, The Duchess of Sussex, recently surprised one of our clients during her coaching session,’ the SmartWorks Instagram post reads.  

‘We are so thrilled that following her virtual appointment, our client got the job and will be starting her internship during the summer months.’

During the session, which took place in March, the Duchess praised Krisi for being ‘such a beacon of hope’ and ‘focusing on getting through this.’ 

Krisi took to Twitter to reveal her shock at being mentored by the Duchess from LA.

She wrote: ‘At the end of March I took part in an interview prep session with SmartWorks and at the end I was surprised with their royal patron, Meghan Markle.’

The youngster, who describes herself as a ‘yogi’ and ‘feminist’ online, went on to call the Duchess the ‘sweetest, most down-to-earth person that I’ve ever met’ and said the experience had been ‘a true, true honour.’ 

Meanwhile she later shared the video clip on her Instagram stories, commenting: ‘Still cannot believe this happened.’

Krisi went on to reveal that the interview had ended up going ‘well’ and she was looking forward to hearing back about the results.

In a clip shared from their call, Meghan said: ‘You seem incredibly confident and prepared. 

‘Everyone here is so excited, so when I was reading what your interests were – you have a big focus in mental health right? I think that’s excellent.’ 

She added: ‘I think you’re going to be fantastic, it’s just so exciting. I just wanted to call in and tell you best of luck and my fingers are crossed for you.’

Meghan privately visited Smart Works several times before being named as its royal patron in January last year and has a long-standing commitment to supporting women’s empowerment. 

The Duchess launched the Smart Set collection last September, which saw every item sold by the retailers matched with one item donated to SmartWorks.
