- They were offset by rising costs of games, toys and hobbies, official figures show
Inflation dipped to 0.3 per cent last month as clothing and food prices eased during the blanket coronavirus lockdown in England.
The headline CPI rate was down from 0.7 per cent in October, taking some of the pressure off families struggling with economic meltdown.
Clothing, food and soft drinks were the main drivers of the slide, while the second hand car market also came off the boil.
That was offset to an extent by rising costs of games, toys and hobbies.

ONS Deputy National Statistician for Economic Statistics Jonathan Athow said:
“With significant restrictions in place across the UK, inflation slowed, predominantly due to clothing and food prices.
‘Also, after several months of buoyant growth, second-hand car prices fell back a little.”
