The home cook first placed all the ingredients, except the mushroom, into the slow cooker for four to six hours.

The prawns must be adequately peeled and deveined and other ingredients such as bacon, herbs or spices can also be added.

The chef explained that you then add the mushrooms into the slow cooker within the last hour of cooking.

Many people were impressed by her very simple recipe – and raved about how it was the best they’ve ever had.

‘I made this and hands down, the best garlic prawns I’ve ever had,’ one person said.

Another wrote: ‘I was worried the prawns would be tough after cooking for so long but they were perfect. Super delicious and soft. Best ever.’
