An Australian amateur chef has been praised online after making delicious fried rice using a slow cooker.
The home cook made the dish after placing 11 simple ingredients in the slow cooker for one and a half hours on high.
The recipe, which was posted on the Slow Cooker Recipe & Tips Facebook page, has taken the internet by storm, with many saying it tastes delicious.
‘I must admit I was a little cautious to try fried rice in the slow cooker as my stove top fried rice is famous but wowsers,’ the home cook wrote.

The amateur chef said cooking fried rice in the slow cooker is ‘actually lighter and fluffier’.
The home cook used white rice, chicken stock, peanut oil, brown onion, garlic, eggs, chopped almonds, frozen vegetables, bacon, fish sauce and soy sauce.
‘First, heat rice and oil in hot saucepan till rice gets golden brown constantly stirring for three minutes.’
Then add the vegetables and eggs and stir for one minute before adding to the slow cooker and mixing in the stock.
After cooking the bacon, add it in along with the garlic, chopped up almonds, fish sauce and soy sauce.
One person commented: ‘Cooked it tonight. Added Conimex Nasi Goreng mix to the recipe. Wonderful way to use the slow cooker!’
‘Tried fried rice in my slow cooker tonight, [it’s] best I’ve ever had,’ another person wrote.
