Good Morning Britain descended into chaos on Wednesday as Piers Morgan said their director had told him and Susanna Reid the show was ‘hanging by a thread.’
The TV presenter, 55, explained to viewers that their boss was speaking into their in-ear microphones to shout about an issue, which Piers claimed was probably ‘a technical glitch that no one is aware of.’
He explained: ‘To put it into context what we hear, you probably imagine at home there’s calm and not much going on.

‘It’s a constant stream of consciousness from our director who is emotionally erratic so he literally, as we were about to come on air, all we hear are the words “this show is hanging by a thread!”
‘What? Have we been cancelled? What do you mean? It will be some technical glitch that no one is aware of.’
Joining in, Susanna went on: ‘Erin, tell us what is it because I didn’t realise, can the voice of god talk to us from the studio and tell us what it is?’
But even as Piers asked him to ‘go on’ and tell them ‘what it is’, a voiceover of an impressionist mimicked Richard Ayoade told them to ‘carry on’.

On Tuesday’s show, Piers claimed he and Paris Hilton are married, as he reminded Good Morning Britain viewers that he took part in a stunt for a TV show in 2009, about how easy it was to tie the knot in Las Vegas.
In the segment, Piers and the hotel heiress, 39, were married in front of an Elvis Presley impersonator, with Paris wearing an ivory gown designed by Enozoani, complete with veil and white rose bouquet.
The groom even got to kiss the bride at the end of it.

‘She’s still my wife technically. We got married in Vegas for a TV show. True story, there’s video of it,’ he said, throwing to a clip from the special moment.
‘We had an Elvis lookalike, a Frank Sinatra lookalike, a Marilyn Monroe lookalike. She wore a beautiful bridal gown, brought a dog with her, I got to kiss the bride, we exchanged rings.
‘My actual wife was a little bit bemused!’

‘Does this mean you’re a bigamist?’ Susanna asked, but he assured her the stunt was not legal.
‘It cost us $300 and it was all over in 15 minutes. That’s my kind of romance,’ Piers joked.
In the show, Paris walked down the aisle to the Dean Martin classic That’s Amore with her pet Pomeranian, and the Marilyn impersonator as a bridesmaid.
Here comes the groom: Even Piers had a special outfit designed for the occasion – a blue suit and tie, designed by Pal Zaleri, with Prada shoes.
