Five-year-old daredevil does a hilarious faceplant after she hurtles downhill on her scooter and flies over the handlebars when it hits the sand

A five-year-old daredevil who ‘loves nothing more than making people laugh’ fell face-first into the sand after riding her scooter down a beachside hill.  

Mary James, from Whitley Bay, North Tyneside, reacted to her hilarious fall by immediately getting to her feet and dusting herself off. 

Her mother Emily said it was in her daughter’s nature to make others laugh.

She said: ‘She’s a very happy, positive person to be around during this difficult time and loves nothing more than making people laugh.’ 

She added: ‘She is a force of nature and fearless, and she just got up and got straight back on her scooter.’

Mary stands on one leg as her scooter rolls down the hill on April 8 and she screams ‘This is going to be amazing’.

She continues to cry happily as her scooter makes the last few metres before it reaches the edge of the beach. 

Her front wheels hit the edge of the sand, preventing them from moving, and the scooter tips forward. 

Mary flies forwards, tumbling over the handlebars and landing face first in the sand below. 

She lands with her arms underneath her but immediately gets up, blows the sand out of her mouth and dusts herself off while the person filming laughs.
