An estate agent who jokingly advertised an igloo for sale for £250,000 was then besieged by house hunters who demanded viewings.

Palmer & Partners said the igloo on ‘North Pole Road’ had ‘signs of damp’ in a tongue-in-cheek advertisement posted online amid Britain’s continuing cold snap.

The estate agent used a photograph of an igloo built by a family in Clacton-on-Sea for the satirical post, and the firm was shocked when they received viewing requests.

Brady Rackham told the Sun: ‘I thought it would be fun to put it on the market. We have actually had a few viewing requests.’
