He’s become a major Hollywood player by producing his own star vehicles.

And on Wednesday, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson celebrated the news that his most recent movie Jumanji: The Next Level has now made $800 million at the global box office.

‘This was a nice surprising call to get this morning,’ he wrote on his Instagram alongside an image of Deadline.com’s story about the milestone. ‘JUMANJI’s still going strong.’

The pro wrestler turned actor then thanked his fans for their support.

‘I’m always grateful to see our JUMANJI having that unique, fun magic and mana for families around the (world) to enjoy, he said. ‘Our entire team will work even harder to make the next JUMANJI the best one yet.’

Jumanji: The Next Level was released in December 2019 and was a sequel to 2017’s Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle, a follow-on from the original Robin Williams movie Jumanji, released in 1995.

For his two films, The Rock brought together Kevin Hart, Jack Black and Karen Gillan as his principal co-stars.

While a fourth film is planned, the COVID-19 pandemic has thrown a spanner in the works and will no doubt delay the production.

Meanwhile, one of The Rock’s celebrity Instagram followers angled for a part in the fourth big screen outing.

Vampire Diaries star Ian Somerhalder commented on The Rock’s Instagram post, writing: ‘Congrats man! Umm, can I be in the next one?!’
