The accident occurred in March in the city of Nantong. It was brought to light this week after the patient returned to the hospital on Monday to thank the surgeons for saving his life.

Mr Zhu was working on a construction site on March 27 when he accidentally fell from the height, according to the Nantong Second People’s Hospital.
