This is the hilarious moment a cheeky fox steals their owner’s phone and attempts to bury it for fun.

Wildlife rescuer Mikayla Raines, from Lakeville, Minnesota, was attempting to practice yoga near her home, and her set up her camera to record her session.

But as she gets into position, her domesticated red fox Dixie decides she wants to play around with her owner’s phone.

In the video, Mikayla can be seen placing her phone down to record her as Dixie goes in to inspect it.

‘Don’t you knock… don’t you do anything to my phone,’ says the wildlife campaigner, but within seconds the cub has picked up the device and made a run for it.

The vixen can be heard laughing maniacally as she paces across the grass, phone in mouth, as Mikayla can be heard shouting ‘stop!’ in the distance.

Dixie eventually comes to a halt, before digging into the ground in an attempt to bury the device.

But when her owner finally catches up, the animal rolls on her side and starts to laugh as Mikayla offers belly rubs, saying ‘that was pretty funny’.

‘I was going to practice yoga. Dixie had other plans!’ wrote Mikayla as she posted the video on Instagram.

Dixie is one of the residents of Save A Fox rescue service, a domestic rescue centre based in the USA which allows space for foxes, mink and other animals they rescue to ‘feel wild’.

The animals they save are mostly born in captivity and can’t be released back into the wild.
