Hilarious footage of a one-year-old American Bulldog has sparked debate as viewers try to work out whether he is hopping up or down the stairs.
The short video shows Groot, who lives in Hadley, New Jersey, excitedly bounding around on the stairs.
However, the optical illusion has people confused as it is difficult to decide if the dog is hopping up or down the stairs.

The brown and white bulldog looks full of concentration throughout the video as he puts his head forward and playfully hops.
Owner Gina Creuz, 53, revealed that Groot was in fact – spoiler alert – hopping down the stairs excited to go outside.
Gina said: ‘Love my pup and his odd way of hopping down the stairs.’
