Britons feeling blue because of the coronavirus lockdown are set to bask in some moral-boosting sunshine with forecasters predicting a mini spring heatwave.
Weather experts say temperatures could soar to 68F by Sunday, bringing the recent cold snap to an end.
But sun-seekers will have to endure a little more misery first, with experts predicting a cold, wet and windy end to the week.
According to the Met Office, temperatures will struggle to meet 10C today, with temperatures set to remain around that level across Thursday and Friday.
But the mercury will begin to rise on what is forecast to be an overcast Saturday.

The Met Office then predicts the sun to break through, with temperatures set to hit highs of 68F in London by Sunday.
Birmingham is also likely to have 62F highs on Sunday, while further north, in Manchester, temperatures are forecast to peak to around 64F.
And though temperatures are set to drop slightly on Monday and Tuesday, the Met Office is still predicting highs of around 60F.
In their five day forecast, the Met Office say: ‘It will be a dry and fairly bright day on Friday with light winds, becoming breezy and cloudy but staying dry on Saturday.
‘It will be a sunny and windy day on Sunday.’

The country remains in lockdown following the outbreak of Covid-19.
The virus has so claimed the lives of 2,352 people across the UK, while almost 30,000 Britons are known to have the virus.
Meanwhile, the government has ordered Britons to remain indoors, leaving only to go to the shops for essential items, for medication, to undertake one hour of exercise or to go to work where it cannot be done from home.
