Miss Wales finalists have donned their glitzy ball gowns to complete their mundane, everyday tasks after their grand final was cancelled.

The stunning hopefuls are seeing the funny side after being halted on their way to the crown due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Determined to not let their glamorous frocks and stilettos go to waste, the would-be Miss Wales contestants have worn them to clean the patio, walk the dogs and water the plants.

Organisers of the Miss Wales event, which was scheduled to run this week, challenged competitors to instead pose for fun photoshoots at their homes while doing their chores.

Olivia Harris, 17, decided to get out the lawnmower at home in Magor, Monmouthshire, while wearing a shimmering cream dress.

Estate agent Lauren Parkinson, 24, of Chirk, sported pink rubber gloves to do some feather dusting in her strapless matching outfit.

And Sadie Pulman, 25, of Cardiff, fed the chickens while wearing a black gown with a stylish thigh-high split.

Miss Wales organiser Paula Abbandonato said: ‘We are all so disappointed not to be having our Miss Wales events this week but are trying to stay as positive as possible.

‘We thought this photoshoot would be a bit of fun amongst the sadness of the time and keep us all focused on better things to come.’

Other ball gown poses included walking the dog, doing yoga, vacuuming and cooking.

Holly Furnish was caught cleaning windows, Katie-Lee Farr was watering plants and Millie Mae-Adams whizzing around the Hoover – all in their finery.

The winner of the pageant will represent Wales at the 70th anniversary of Miss World.

She will also win a prize package of clothes, haircare, skincare, jewellery and a photographic portfolio.

The Miss Wales beauty queen will also enjoy a year of VIP experiences while supporting a number of children’s charities.
