Eagle’s eye view! 360-degree camera captures bird of prey soaring over Scottish mountains in stunning footage

  • Footage was captured by inflight camera strapped to a golden eagle called Tilly
  • She scans the area looking for prey before being driven away by a pair of ravens
  • Mountains are the typical habitat for eagles which can catch prey as big as deer

A birds-eye view of the remote Scottish mountains has been captured in stunning detail from a camera strapped to a golden eagle.

The 360-degree footage was captured by a 19-year-old trained bird of prey called Tilly.

The bird of prey scans the area before being driven away by a pair of ravens.

This is the breath-taking footage giving a complete birds-eye view of the remote Scottish mountains

In the video, the eagle can be seen with her wings outstretched as she soars above the open expanse of green pastures.

Her feathers ruffle slightly as she flies into the breeze while repeatedly jolting her head from side-to-side to scan the area below.

A cameraman can be spotted dressed all in black in the distance as he tries to capture the bird’s flight path.

Tilly swoops round in a small circle before beginning her descent toward the ground to land on a rocky embankment.

But as she stops for a rest a pair of ravens edge closer towards her to get a closer look.

Ravens do not pose much threat to the bird of prey but do often prove to be a nuisance as they attempt to defend their young chicks and food resources.
