Moviegoers excited to see Robert’s The Batman movie in cinemas should brace themselves, as it’s set to be the longest film in the franchise ever at nearly three hours long.

The hotly-anticipated comic book film is said to have a running time of two hours and 55 minutes, including eight minutes of credits, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Insiders at Warner Bros. confirmed the runtime to THR last month, making it the longest running solo Batman film so far.

Pattinson’s The Batman – from director Matt Reeves – will land in cinemas on March 4.

Reeves previously directed monster smash Cloverfield (2008), Let Me In (2010) and the sci-fi sequels Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (2014) and War for the Planet of the Apes (2017).

It is the latest reboot of the beloved DC Comics character, and features Zoe Kravitz as the iconic character Catwoman, previously played in the movies by Michelle Pfeiffer and Anne Hathaway.

The former star of The Twilight Saga was officially cast as the Caped Crusader back in May 2019, after Ben Affleck left the role months before.

Affleck stepped down as both director and star after two outings as the Dark Knight in 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and 2017’s Justice League.

Pattinson had actively pursued the role in The Batman, telling Variety in 2019: ‘I’d had Batman in my mind for a while.’

‘It’s such an absurd thing to say. I sort of had an idea to do it, and I’d been prodding Matt. He didn’t accept any prods. I kept asking to meet him.’

The actor first got to try on the Batman suit during the final stages of the audition process.

He told Variety: ‘You do feel very powerful immediately.’

He went on to describe how the suit ‘is incredibly difficult to get into, so the ritual of getting into it is pretty humiliating.’

‘You’ve got five people trying to shove you into something. Once you’ve got it on, it’s like, ‘Yeah, I feel strong, I feel tough, even though I had to have someone squeezing my butt cheeks into the legs.’
