Woman in her 40s is arrested for murder after boy, 10, was found dead at house in west London

A woman has been arrested and a murder investigation has been launched after a boy, 10, was found dead at a house in west London.  

The woman walked into a police station at around 2.30am this morning to speak to officers and a short while later the boy was found dead at a home in Cumberland Park, Acton, west London. 

The woman was known to the child and nobody else is sought at this stage in connection with the death. 

Officers believe they know his identity but await formal identification. 

Next of kin have been informed and detectives from Specialist Crime are investigating.

A post-mortem examination will be arranged in due course.
