New Married At First Sight bride Joanne Todd, 39, reveals why she ‘chose’ to be a single mother… as the identity of her TV husband is leaked

Joanne Todd is hoping to find love on the new season of Married At First Sight.

Following a marriage breakdown, the Melbourne-based hairdresser hasn’t had the best luck on the dating scene and for years has opted to stay single.

The mother of three told to 9Now on Thursday: ‘I chose to be single, I just needed to work on myself and become a better person and heal.’

Joanne has three young boys, but it’s unclear how old they are.

‘I came on MAFS because I wasn’t having much luck in the outside world so I thought I’d let someone else arrange a marriage for me and let an expert find me love instead of me, because I was stuffing it right up,’ she claimed.

Joanne said she briefly tried dating apps for less than a week, but quit them as she felt it was a ‘nightmare’ experience that was repetitive and too competitive.

‘He doesn’t have to cook or clean. Romance is like making you feel warm and fuzzy inside, having to think about the other person. If your partner puts you first then that’s what you’ve got,’ Joanne said.

It’s believed she will be partnered with Victorian prestige car company owner James Susler, 44.

The multi-millionaire businessman is also a divorced father of three, recently single and looking to find someone to settle down with.

He describes himself as a ‘cheeky chappy’ and the ringleader of social groups
