What REALLY happens behind the scenes on Channel Nine’s Lego Masters as producers reveals all

Earlier this month it was revealed contestants must take quick toilet breaks and follow strict mobile phone rules while on set.

But as Nine’s smash-hit Lego Masters comes to an end, producers have revealed there’s a lot of hard work that goes into making the quirky show.

Speaking to Woman’s Day, producers have revealed that staging the show is anything but child’s play – and it all comes down to the art department.

‘We rely on our art department, who spend a lot of time going through all those buckets to make sure the right bricks are in the right place and kept in their correct colours and style of brick!’ one producer told the publication.

While it depends on the build, filming an episode of the show can take anywhere from a few hours – to a few days.

But despite enduring hours on their creations, contestants are not able to take their masterpieces home.

Instead, they’re given to charities or used as competition prizes for viewers.

Despite being a family-friendly show, it appears producers have no plans to create a children’s version of the series.

Earlier this month, ousted contestants Jay and Stan revealed that toilet breaks are ‘really quick’ and only taken if urgent while filming the show.

Speaking to Now To Love, Jay said: ‘That’s your time. You run there and back because the clock is ticking.’

As contestants arrive for a day’s filming, phones are confiscated, too.

‘As you arrive on set, you put your phone in your little locker, and you don’t get it back until afterwards,’ Jay said.

Jay went on to say that while teams do get breaks throughout the day, ‘during those breaks, you have no access to anything’.
