Why it’s NOT bad luck to put your Christmas tree up early: WAG Rebecca Judd reveals how decorating her $7.3million mansion in November transformed more than her home
It’s widely believed to be bad luck for a Christmas tree, and other holiday decor, to go up before December.
But WAG Rebecca Judd has revealed how bucking traditions this year has bought her family nothing but festive cheer.
Bec, who has previously divided opinion with her Christmas styling, defended her decision to erect her tree a week early on Monday’s KIIS FM 3PM Pick-Up.

‘Mine went up a week ago. I just… it’s been one of those years where we just wanted something really fun to look forward to,’ Bec, 37, said of her family of six.
Bec and AFL star husband Chris Judd share four children: son Oscar, nine, daughter Billie, six, and twin sons Tom and Darcy, four.
‘We go that tree up so quickly, even though people say if you do it before December first, it’s back luck. I have seen everyone with their tree up!’ Bec exclaimed.
‘I’ve always thought that [it was bad luck],’ Bec’s co-host Katie ‘Monty’ Dimond said.
‘You know what? Putting it [the tree] up just filled the house with a sense of joy and happiness, so it works. I highly recommend it,’ Bec added.

Is this Bec’s new tree? The WAG says she has adopted a new ‘silver tree with snow’ from Target this year – which is believed to be the retailer’s $149 7ft Snowy Aspen Pre-Lit Tree (pictured)

Monty said this year she ‘copied’ Bec’s controversial ‘Scandi-style’ Christmas tree, made out of recycled branches.
Bec quickly joked that her co-star clearly didn’t follow her on Instagram as she hasn’t used that particular festive design in two years.

However, on November 24 Bec uploaded a photo of a more-traditional green Christmas tree from within her lounge room, which was decorated with pink and silver decorations. It looked similar to the tree she used in 2019.

Bec constantly copped flack on social media for her ‘depressing’, ‘un-festive’ and minimalist Christmas tree made of recycled logs, since first debuting it in 2012.
In 2017, Bec hit back at trolls on her radio show, claiming: ‘Guys, this Christmas tree is not going anywhere… It’s going to be with me and my family until the day I die, so just suck it up!’
Just a year earlier, Bec had joked that her husband ‘almost breaks his back every year’ retrieving the heavy ‘ugly stick tree’ from storage.
However, when the family moved into their new $7.3million Melbourne mansion in 2019, Bec decided to debut a new tree and throw out the Scandi-style design.
