Ulrika Jonsson reveals fears for her daughter’s life amid coronavirus crisis

She is a doting mother to four children.

And Ulrika Jonsson has expressed fears for her second eldest child Bo, 20, who suffers with a congenital heart condition, amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The TV personality, 52, admitted that she hasn’t felt this ‘anxious’ in her whole life as she candidly gave an update on life with three of her four children under one roof while self-isolating.

Speaking in her column in The Sun, Ulrika described the upheaval in her life after Bo returned from college to self-quarantine at home as she falls under the vulnerable category.

As the country is gripped with uncertainty and the death toll rising by the day, Ulrika admitted: ‘I’m not going to lie. I don’t think I’ve felt so anxious in all my 52 years.’

However, while the star is desperate to keep her daughter and the rest of the family safe, the former Gladiators presenter is still adjusting to having her girl, and all her worldly possessions, back in her home.

Bo moved out last year to attend the prestigious Norland College in Bath, where students train for three years to become a top level nanny.

Ulrika said: ‘I pray for her good health, along with all my family . . . and everyone else, of course. But by Monday I was already wondering if I might actually murder her.’

Referencing the government’s recent decision to close down all schools in a bid to try and reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus, Ulrika questioned her sanity amid having her two youngest at home as well.

She continued: ‘Now, I am a patient mum who loves her unconditionally. But I will soon have two more “ungratefuls” at home — Martha, 15, and Malcolm, 11. I am starting to doubt my capacity as a human, let alone a mum.’

She went on to discuss the woes of having bickering children all at home, adding that her offspring manage about ’90 seconds of civility’ before sparring again.

Ulkrika also has another son Cameron, 25, whom she shares with ex John Turnbull.

Earlier this week, the former weather girl further detailed her fears for Bo during these uncertain times.

Sharing a picture of her girl curled up on the sofa with her phone, she penned: ‘I know everything is relative and there are people worse off but this is our reality.

‘For this one with a compromised immune system and underlying health (cardiac) condition – shit has just got real.

‘And I don’t know what the road ahead holds; don’t know how to stop her going insane; keep her protected and entertained. And not even feeling secure in my own state of mind enough to know how to lead the way and keep everyone smiling.’

It comes after the star was left ‘fraught with anxiety’ after underwent coronavirus tests after coming home with flu symptoms last month.

Ulrika said that her daughter – who she refers to as the Oldest Female Ungrateful in her Instagram post – was also suffering from a painful chest.

Bo, who has suffered from a cardiac defect since she was born, was rushed to hospital in an ambulance after being told she wasn’t allowed to visit a surgery.

Revealing her distress over the situation, Ulrika shared a picture of her daughter with a cannula in her arm alongside a caption which read: ‘EVERYTHING IS FINE.

‘But yesterday was fraught with anxiety and exhaustion. Oldest Female Ungrateful had come home from Uni full of flu-like symptoms and painful chest.

‘Wasn’t allowed to go to Dr’s. 111 sent an ambulance to get her (very calmly) and took her to A&E where Corona had to be ruled out in isolation and investigations pursued due to her cardiac defect.

Ulrika went on to praise her daughter who she said was ‘ridiculously brave’ despite the distress the ordeal was causing her.

She added: ‘Finally given the all clear. Mamma is so proud and relieved.

The Swedish born star also credited the NHS for their impressive work and referenced her daughters’ heart condition which they have previously helped with.

She said: ‘And will be eternally grateful to our amazing #nhs which is always there when you need it and has been saving her life since before she was born.’

‘(Huge thanks to the 3 wonderful paramedics who treated her with such care and respect. And were sweet with our doggies. I bow to thee) #nhs #cardiacdefect.’
