Troye Sivan has announced he will release new music in response to freelance artists losing work amid the coronavirus pandemic. 

The Australian pop sensation, 24, shared a Twitter post on Thursday telling fans: ‘New music coming, I don’t know when but really soon.’ 

‘Just approved the mix for the song. I don’t know how long it takes for Spotify + Apple Music to gobble it up but I’ll keep you all posted,’ he added.

Troye posted an Instagram story video tell fans: ‘ Guys, we’re f***ing doing this. Are we?’

‘We are. We’re leaking music,’ he said as he posted another photo of himself holding a celebratory bottle of beer up in the air.

He also shared a photo negative of himself on Instagram and wrote in the caption: ‘We’re going rogue.’

The Dance To This hitmaker tagged his record companies Capitol Records and EMI Music Australia in the post and said: ‘I would like to release new music I just decided.’

In the caption he called on freelance graphic designers and animation artists to contact him about collaborating to create a music video.

‘I want to work with you and take the money I would be spending on music videos and give it to you.

‘This is a tough and scary time and I feel so lucky to have music and art to get me through emotionally and financially and I want to share that so bad.

He added: ‘I have no idea when this song is gonna come out because I have really spoken to anyone about it yet but its gonna be soon as hell.’

Troye’s response comes as the number of confirmed cases of coronavirus in his home country of Australia rises to 857 as of Friday afternoon.

A total of seven deaths have been confirmed.
