‘I’m so proud of my skin’: TOWIE’s Demi Sims unveils her vitiligo patches as she poses in swimsuit during Mexico trip… after years of covering them up with makeup
Demi Sims ‘proudly’ unveiled her vitiligo patches on Instagram on Thursday, as she shared a snap of herself posing in a black swimsuit on Instagram.
The TOWIE star, 24, admitted that she’d previously spent years covering up evidence of the skin condition with makeup, or editing it out of her snapshots.
Captioning the image, which showed her posing in the swimsuit with a torso cutout as her ‘work’ trip to Mexico continues, the reality star admitted her approach to dealing with the pigmentation condition has changed for the better in recent years.

She wrote: ‘Vitiligo gang… I remember how worried I used to be about my patches, always putting make up over them and editing them out my pictures and now I am so proud of them!
‘Within only a couple of years my mind set has changed, and that’s because of the support I’ve had from you guys! So Thank you, you don’t realise how much a nice comment goes a long way ✨.
Demi concluded: ‘Everyone is unique in their own individual way, always remember how special you are ❤️✨.’
Back in 2019, she opened up about having vitiligo in a similar Instagram post, as she confessed: ‘It’s taken me years to upload a post like this with my vitiligo patches on my body showing.’

The younger sister of Chloe Sims went on to detail the lengths she take to hide her skin saying: ‘The thing is I can’t be bothered to keep editing them out or fake tanning and putting make up over them anymore so that people don’t judge.’
Promoting body confidence and self-love, the Essex beauty elaborated: ‘Especially now summer is coming up I don’t want the stress of having to hide them 24/7 when wearing a bikini.
‘I know that 2019 is so excepting of everything now and I am grateful for the people who have made it like that. I’ve learnt to be true to yourself and don’t hide what makes you different, self love should always come first.’
Vitiligo is a skin condition in which the pigment cells of the skin are destroyed in certain areas of the body by the immune system.

Meanwhile, Demi has been enjoying an extended ‘work’ trip on the sun-kissed shores of Mexico with her new girlfriend, Too Hot To Handle star Francesca Farago.
Last week, the couple shocked social media as they got their names tattooed on each other’s bottom and wrist, just days after going public with their relationship.
Francesca also shared shots of herself in blue floral bikini bottoms and a white crop top from PrettyLittleThing as she revealed her future plans with Demi.
The Canadian beauty wrote: ‘Moving to London next, brb,’ on social media which was quickly met with approval by Demi’s sister Frankie, who commented: ‘Yay.’
Shortly after, Demi herself confirmed the news as she wrote: ‘Can’t wait for you to live with me!’ amongst a trio of adoring comments on Francesca’s post.
